If you could quickly pick out three horses, confident that one of the three is likely to win more than 50 percent of the time, would it change your handicapping methodology?

Well, we've developed an algorithm that does just that. It creates a "contender score" for each horse. Using BRIS Multicaps files (*.mcp), the algorithm looks at the last three races for each horse, and considers the BRIS Class and Race Ratings for those races, along with the field size and the horse's finish position in each race. And, in a study of more than 500 races at 8 different tracks during April and May of 2010, one of the horses having the top three scores won an astounding 54.6% of those races!

Using BRIS PP files in single file format (*.drf), the algorithm uses slightly different data (because the *.mcp and *.drf files are slightly different), but produces nearly identical results.

Okay, it doesn't actually pick the winner for you. We've tried wagering on the top scorer, and although it did produce a small profit, it wasn't enough to get excited about. However, using this program as a qualifier with a long shot system, or whatever else you use to select winners, can produce dynamite results.
